Research at Maierhofer Software

Maierhofer Software does research to build environmentally and economic software. Server performance is the key to further expansion of the Internet. It is stated that Google is the largest consumer of electricity in the world. The future growth of Google depends on the cost of electricity they need. Many Web 2.0 projects failed on hosting costs as soon as the number of users rises.

Existing Content Management Systems (CMS) and Web applications often break down under load. Especially popular CMS with dynamic content and Web applications can not handle much more than 10-40 requests per second. This is cost-inefficient in case of hardware needs and power consumption.

We are thus developing technologies to make efficient and scalable Web servers.
